Me and my wife, Sonia
Mr. Kuriger: Let me tell you a little about myself.
If you can't find what you're looking for here, feel free to contact me at I've lived in Minnesota for most of my life. I was born here and my parents moved about the state a bit. I went to High School and to College in Duluth (UMD) where I graduated with two double majors (one in teaching High School Science & High School Mathematics and the other in Spanish & Chemistry). I've been teaching since 1989. I said I've lived in Minnesota for most of my life, but that's not all of my life. After my 1st year of teaching in Battle Lake, MN I traveled to Honduras where I lived in the capital, Tegucigalpa, for two years. It was there that I met my wife and we still go back to visit for a few weeks every couple of years. I began teaching at the Le Center High School in 1992 and I am happy to be part of Tri-City United High School...go Titans! I have two daughters (the oldest has now been married for three years and the youngest got married in August and will be going back for her third year of college at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul after taking a gap year where she spent the first part of this school year in Honduras serving in an orphanage for two months and then as a volunteer in a church in the mountains for two more). I enjoy reading, biking, swimming, and a variety of sports (I didn't say I was very good, I just enjoy them!). If you challenge me to a game of chess, I'll do what I can to make it happen. The problem of course is finding the time as I'm also a full time Pastor in Faribault. Yes, that does mean that I got to perform the ceremony at my daughter's wedding three summers ago. At my younger daughter's wedding I was happy just to be dad. Please feel free to contact me any time at and I will get back to you as soon as I can. |

Physics
Mechanics, electricity, magnetism, sound, optics for college and career preparation.
PC Chemistry
This is TCU class recommended for those who are preparing for college.
Students are encouraged to work hard and to take advantage of youtube for extra help. Tyler Dewitt is often especially helpful and are videos from Khan Academy.
Chemistry
This is the class for students who need to fulfill their Chemistry requirement for graduation and are not likely going into a science or math related field of study in college. Chemistry focuses on the chemical reactions that affect all matter. In the first semester we study matter, elements, atomic theory, the periodic table, atomic structure. As we move into the 2nd semester our focus shifts to chemical symbols and reactions, the mathematics involved in stoichiometric calculations, gas laws, acid/base chemistry and basic organic chemistry.
