Hello, I'm Mrs. Costello, the 7-12 Band Teacher! This is my 11th year of teaching overall. Before moving to Minnesota, I had spent my whole life in Wisconsin. I grew up in a small town and attended school at St. Norbert College. Previously I taught beginning band and orchestra in Green Bay, as well as high school band and high school string orchestra in Beaver Dam. My main instruments are clarinet, saxophone and piano, but enjoy playing secondary brass and percussion instruments. I think it's important to practice what you preach - literally! I still perform and rehearse in adult ensembles. I have performed with the St. Norbert Community band, was principal clarinetist for Beaver Dam Area Orchestra and am currently performing with the Eden Prairie Community Band.
This past summer, I finished my Master's Degree in Music Education through the American Band College with Central Washington University. For three summers, I had traveled out to Oregon and Washington for an intensive three week program, followed up with projects and studying throughout the year. We worked with world renowned clinicians, rehearsed with famous composers and directors, and performed with amazing professional soloists.
Outside of school and work, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband Patrick and I enjoy spending time outside, playing sports and lawn games, kayaking and camping. We have a daughter named Lyana
who just turned 2 this fall. She loves to go swimming, color, read books, sing and play outside.
I travel between buildings every day, the best way to get ahold of me is through email:
